Thrice Armed

"Thrice Armed" by Harold Bindloss tells the story of Jim Wheelock, a former British Navy trainee who comes back to Vancouver to help his weak father, Tom Wheelock, and save their failing shipping company. The book looks at ideas like duty, family connections, and the fight against tough natural conditions and greedy people on the rough coast. Jim starts his journey on the schooner "Tyee," thinking about how different his life is now compared to when he was in the Navy. He finds out his father is sick and broke because of Merril, who is using his money unfairly. Jim, with the help of his loyal friend, Prescott, faces cheating and problems, which shapes who they are as they try to overcome hardship.
