Summary

"The Night of the Trolls" by Keith Laumer is a science fiction adventure that throws a man named Jackson into a harsh, changed Earth after he's been asleep for a very long time. The shock of waking up in a silent, ruined military base, without his family, is just the start; he soon learns the world outside is full of danger, with crumbling technology and wild military groups. Jackson has to figure out what happened while facing enemies like the menacing Baron and his troops, all while trying to stay alive. This story is about survival and finding out who you are when everything you knew is gone, set in a future where advanced machines and human struggles collide.
