Summary

"Address: Centauri" by F. L. Wallace is a science fiction story about rejected humans with severe injuries living on Handicap Heaven, an asteroid. The novel focuses on their burning desire to escape to the stars. Doctor Cameron, a main character, speaks with Docchi, a medical device, about the Solar Committee's refusal to let the accidentals leave their confined location. Docchi expresses frustration, as accidentals want to show their worth in spite of their disabilities. Several characters plan to rebel to reach other solar systems.

About the Author

F. L. Wallace, sometimes credited as Floyd Wallace, was a noted science fiction and mystery writer. He was born in Rock Island, Illinois, in 1915, and died in Tustin, California, in 2004. Wallace spent most of his life in California as a writer and mechanical engineer after attending the University of Iowa. He also attended UCLA.
