Summary

"The Centaurians: a novel" by Biagi is a story from the early 1900s following Virgillius Salucci, a rich man who feels empty despite his wealth, and his adventures while looking for love. The novel examines topics such as wealth, growing as a person, and looking for what's important in life beyond just owning things. Salucci starts off the novel thinking about coming back to the United States after traveling around Europe for many years. Even though he's really rich, he feels like something is missing because he's not connected to people and has spent his life looking for new things without really finding anything meaningful. Early on, the book talks about Salucci's family history, which includes madness and a cursed gem. As he deals with who he is and what people expect of him, he decides to go on a trip to the North Pole because he wants to find a purpose and maybe even the love he's been dreaming of. This starts him on a journey that will not only take him to new places but also change him as a person.
