"Centauri Vengeance" by Stephen Marlowe is a sci-fi tale about a prominent figure named George Haven, who carries a heavy conscience. Back on Centauri VII, Haven's history starts to catch up with him and we see an exploration of how people deal with guilt when obsessed with power. The plot follows Haven as he goes back to Centauri VII with his new wife, Louise, only to have his past resurface after he murdered his old partner, Drexell Tolliver. Haven is disturbed by the idea of Tolliver's body deep inside a glacier, a secret that could destroy his life.
