Summary

"The Master Mind of Mars" by Edgar Rice Burroughs is about an Earthman named Ulysses Paxton who crash lands on Mars and meets Ras Thavas, a strange scientist who can bring the dead back to life. Paxton is soon working with Ras Thavas in his lab full of revived bodies, where he has to struggle with ethical questions about transferring minds and bodies. He especially worries about a beautiful girl whose mind is stuck in the body of an old woman, adding both adventure with questions about right and wrong and a longing for friendship during the cold experimentations.
