"The Mind Master" by Arthur J. Burks is an early 20th-century science fiction novel about Lee Bentley and Ellen Estabrook, who have just come back from a scary trip to Africa where a crazy scientist named Caleb Barter switched Bentley's brain with an ape's brain. Back in New York City, they're trying to get their lives back to normal, but Barter shows up again with more evil plans that threaten everyone. The story starts with Bentley and Estabrook getting off their ship, nervous about what happened but hoping for a good future. But then, they hear about a bad guy called the "Mind Master," who starts making scary threats. After seeing a creepy man who’s been hurt right after reading about the Mind Master’s bad plans, Bentley knows he has to do something because the nightmare is starting again. He thinks about what he went through when his brain was switched and realizes that Barter is back and that he and his fiancé might be in danger. So, Bentley decides to find out what Barter is up to.
