Summary

"Ben Comee" by M. J. Canavan is a story set in the 1700s about a boy coming of age in Lexington, Massachusetts, right before the Revolutionary War. Through Ben Comee's eyes, we see his family and the village where he lives, where simple joys like his friends, school, and trapping muskrats mix with worry about attacks from Native Americans and the growing threat of war with the french. Ben's great-grandfather dealt with that very same thing. As Ben grows up, his adventures promise to take him far from home as he seeks to defend all that he knows and loves by joining Rogers's Rangers
