Summary

"Fine Feathers" by George O. Smith is a science fiction tale from the post-World War II era that looks at what happens when someone becomes too ambitious and too smart. The story follows John Wanniston, who uses a special machine to boost his intelligence way beyond everyone else's. As he gets smarter, he also gets more arrogant and starts to think he's better than everyone, trying to control the world around him. However, his need for power makes him forget how important teamwork, community, and being responsible are. This ultimately leads to his downfall, leaving him alone and disconnected from everything he once cared about.
