Summary

"The Man Who Killed the World" by Ray Cummings is a science fiction story that looks at the dark side of power and how scary it can be to have too much control. It's about Peter Groff, a really mean guy who is in charge because he has a lot of money and everyone is afraid of him. He gets angry when he sees people happy even though they don't have much, so he decides to use a super-powerful weapon to wipe out everyone on Earth to show how powerful he is. But after he's the only person left, Groff realizes that winning isn't everything it's cracked up to be, and he's left feeling empty because there's no one left to be afraid of him, and he's haunted by the humanity he destroyed.
