The Star-Master

"The Star-Master" by Ray Cummings is a science fiction story placed in the future where a guy named Arthur Frane gets caught up in a big fight between people from Earth and the calm Venusians. The adventure begins when Arthur and his buddy Jim head into the woods but end up kidnapped by bad Earthmen who want to take over Venus. They quickly learn about the villain, Karl Curtmann, who’s ruling Venus in a mean way, and they meet Venta, who helps them see how wrong Curtmann's ways are. With Venta and some tiny but mighty friends called the Midges, Arthur and Jim come up with a plan to stop Curtmann from taking over entirely, leading to a major clash where they stand up for what's right and fight against control and mistreatment.
