Félix Broux journeys from St. Quentin to Paris, hoping to serve the Duke of St. Quentin, only to be pulled into a web of secrets and danger. Instead of the hero's welcome he imagined, Félix finds himself drawn to a mysterious house across from his lodging, which is rumored to be haunted.
