Summary

"The Motor Boat Club in Florida; or, Laying the Ghost of Alligator Swamp" by H. Irving Hancock is an exciting story from the early 1900s about two brave young boat captains, Tom Halstead and Joe Dawson, who protect their passengers while sailing through dangerous Florida waters filled with mysteries. Tom is a smart and strong leader who has to deal with storms and scary, maybe even supernatural, problems during the trip. The story begins with the motor cruiser "Restless" carrying Mr. and Mrs. Tremaine, a rich young woman named Ida Silsbee, and a strange man named Oliver Dixon. Right away, they get stuck in a big storm, and Tom and Joe have to keep everyone safe while also dealing with weird things happening and not trusting Dixon. The suspense grows as a spooky ghost from "Alligator Swamp" appears, making the story a thrilling ride full of adventure, trouble, and teamwork.
