The Motor Rangers Through the Sierras

"The Motor Rangers Through the Sierras" by John Henry Goldfrap is an early 20th-century adventure following a group of boys, the Motor Rangers, on a trip to the Sierra mountains in their automobile. The story quickly escalates from a fun outing with camping and fishing to a dangerous adventure confronting wildlife and bandits. The journey starts with the introduction of Nat Trevor, Joe Hartley, and Ding-dong Bell, whose car gets a flat tire which sets the stage for light-hearted banter. However, their problems immediately take a violent turn when a storm drives them into a cave for shelter. Upon entering, the boys find themselves face-to-face with a mountain lion, and they must use teamwork and quick thinking to survive the night.
