"The Pursuit of the House-Boat" by John Kendrick Bangs is a funny story that continues the adventures from an earlier book, with famous people from history hanging out as ghosts. The main problem starts when the pirate Captain Kidd steals their house-boat and kidnaps the women on board, which makes the group, including people like Sir Walter Raleigh and Cleopatra, freak out and try to figure out what to do but panic ensues, solved only through the arrival of a mysterious person none other than Sherlock Holmes, who decides to help get their house-boat back.
