"World of the Drone" by Robert Abernathy is a science fiction tale set in a world populated by machine-like beings, where a beetle-like creature named Dworn undertakes a dangerous mission as he transitions into adulthood. Dworn awakens in his armored machine to replenish resources and reunite with his horde, only to discover a scene of ruin: his fellow beetles destroyed in a surprise attack.
