Summary

"Pet Farm" by Roger D. Aycock is a science fiction story that explores the strange world of Falak, a planet with crumbling human settlements and giant moths. A crew lands on Falak to understand what is left of humanity. They find young people but notice that the older people are missing. They learn that the moths control the people. The people stay young and are servants to the moths as part of a horrible bargain to keep them alive. The story follows Farell, a member of the crew, who starts to wonder if their mission to take over the planet is right. Should they save these people, or leave them alone? He then does something that changes everything, making the reader think about what freedom really means.
