Summary

"Rolf in the Woods" by Ernest Thompson Seton is an early 20th-century story about nature, adventure, and cross-cultural friendship where readers follow young Rolf Kittering. After his mother's death, Rolf ends up with his cruel Uncle Micky, while elsewhere Quonab, the last of his tribe, lives simply, honoring nature. Rolf escapes his uncle and finds Quonab, drawn to his wisdom, where they form a strong bond and teach each other about their different lives. The book shows how nature and friendship can change a person, as Rolf goes from a mistreated boy to someone who understands the wilderness.
