Summary

"Two Little Savages" by Ernest Thompson Seton is a story about two young boys named Yan and his friend, who decide to learn how to live like Native Americans in the wilderness. The book emphasizes their outdoor escapades in a natural landscape, as they learn Native American skills; it's about growing up, discovering who you are, and understanding our connection to nature. Yan, who's twelve, really loves wildlife and being in the woods, but his dad is very strict and barely lets him go outside. Yan feels trapped and wants to be free to learn about nature, imagining himself as an Indian. He watches animals, studies tracks, and dreams of a more free existance. This is an introduction to, as well as builds the foundation for, his adventures and the challenges he'll face as he seeks to learn about nature and be free.
