When Lieutenant Charles Thesiger Smith learns his father, a well-known geologist, is stranded after a shipwreck in the Solomon Sea, he embarks on a dangerous journey across the globe to rescue him. Starting with the dramatic wreck of the "Albatross" during a fierce cyclone, the story quickly introduces the urgency of the situation, jumping to Charles's determination upon reading a distressing news report. Driven by love and a sense of duty, Charles faces countless obstacles and explores exotic lands as he navigates his aeroplane in a daring attempt to reach his father before it's too late.
