Summary

"In Clive's Command: A Story of the Fight for India" by Herbert Strang is a historical adventure that follows Desmond Burke, a young man drawn to the excitement of colonial India and inspired by General Robert Clive's heroic actions. Set against the backdrop of 18th-century England, the story begins on an autumn evening when Burke, yearning for adventure, clashes with his overbearing brother while trying to catch a glimpse of Clive, a celebrated figure back from India. Unhappy with his restricted life and fueled by tales of Clive's triumphs, Burke decides to abandon his family farm, setting out to forge his own destiny amidst the historical conflicts of British expansion in India.
