Summary

"Jungle in the Sky" by Stephen Marlowe is an early science fiction story about Steve Stedman, a new graduate in alien animal studies, who joins a dangerous mission across the solar system. Aboard the spaceship "Gordak", Steve and a group of hunters aim to capture strange creatures for display back on Earth. The story focuses on ambition and competition as Steve deals with a doubtful boss and unfriendly shipmates. From Mercury to other distant planets, he battles alien dangers and also investigates the mysterious death of his brother on Ganymede, leading to a thrilling story about survival.

About the Author

Stephen Marlowe was an American author of science fiction, mystery novels, and fictional autobiographies of Goya, Christopher Columbus, Miguel de Cervantes, and Edgar Allan Poe. He is best known for his detective character Chester Drum, whom he created for the 1955 novel The Second Longest Night. Lesser also wrote using the pseudonyms Adam Chase, Andrew Frazer, C.H. Thames, Jason Ridgway, Stephen Wilder, and Ellery Queen.
