"Cosmic Castaway" by Stanley Mullen tells the story of Bell, a man caught between two worlds since cybernetic enhancements turned him part machine. Isolated and yearning for Earth, Bell desperately wants to see his wife, Jane, again. His journey home is fraught with challenges, as he faces fear and rejection due to his altered state from the very people he meets, including officials who doubt his intentions and worry he might be a danger. When disaster strikes during a voyage, Bell is challenged to rise above everyone's prejudice and use his special abilities to try and save lives, all while questioning what his existence and hybrid nature means to the rest of mankind around him.
