Summary

"Home Again, Home Again" by Cory Doctorow is a science fiction story that throws the reader into a world where aliens deem some humans as unsuitable and confine them in mental institutions. The story centers on Chet, a young boy isolated in a run-down building called the "bat-house," who wrestles with feelings of abandonment and a need for understanding. As he interacts with a robotic therapist and a man who believes he's Nikola Tesla, Chet is forced to face difficult questions about his family, friendships, and his own mental state. His journey builds to an intense conclusion, highlighting the devastating repercussions of being rejected by society and prompting reflections on what it means to be human and the sacrifices made to fit in.
