Summary

"Mirage for Planet X" by Stanley Mullen is a science fiction tale that throws us into a wild chase across Mars and beyond. Our protagonist, Torry, is hot on the trail of his old partner, the slippery criminal Bart Roper, who has escaped from prison. Fueled by a desire for a piece of Roper's supposed fortune in transuranic resources, Torry plunges into the dangerous Martian underworld. Along the way, he meets Tharol Sen, Roper's bride-to-be, who is mixed up in Roper's shady dealings with a strange matter transmitter. As Torry gets closer to Roper, facing off against both the cops and rival gangs, he's forced to make a tough choice about Roper's fate, and the possibility of a new life amidst the bizarre scenery of Triton.
