Summary

"Fibble, D.D." by Irvin S. Cobb is a funny story from long ago. It centers on a young church helper, the Rev. Roscoe Titmarsh Fibble, and his funny struggles to get the young people in his church involved in an outdoor club. He tries hard to build friendships with them, but his plans often go wrong in comical ways when he brings the lively boys on a camping trip. The storytelling opens with Dr. Fibble awkwardly agreeing to explain the sad events that lead him to leave St. Barnabas' and shows his bumbling attempts to teach and manage the boys, which leads to crazy situations and accidents and sets a tone of fun and social observation throughout the book.
