Asteroid of the Damned

"Asteroid of the Damned" by Dirk Wylie is a science fiction adventure set on Pallas, an asteroid haven for criminals and a strange race called the Kiddies. MacCauley, a determined protagonist, arrives on Pallas with the goal of finding a crime lord responsible for spreading a dangerous drug across the planets. As he makes his way through the asteroid's dangerous world, MacCauley comes across weird alien species and the Kiddies, who are strangely obsessed with metal. After getting robbed by one of the Kiddies and betrayed by another law agent, MacCauley uses his cleverness and understanding of the Kiddies' metal obsession to turn the tables, escape, and position himself for a unique opportunity to build an empire on Pallas.
