Summary

"Project Hi-Psi" by Frank Riley is a science fiction story about Dr. Lucifer Brill, a scientist studying psychic abilities, who discovers that people with these powers are vanishing all over the country. He tries to warn the FBI, certain that aliens from a planet called Melus are behind the disappearances, using people as lab rats for their psychic experiments. But his warnings are ignored, and soon Brill and one of his test subjects, Nina Poteil, are kidnapped, finding themselves prisoners on Melus, faced with aliens wanting to use their minds in ways they never imagined. The story kicks off pitting Dr. Brill’s incredible theories against everyday doubt, questioning what we owe to others, and whether powerful abilities should be used at all.
