Summary

"Oliver Twist" by Charles Dickens is a story set in the early 1800s, a period when England really needed social changes. It tells us about Oliver, an orphan who had a tough start in a workhouse where life was hard and unfair. Right from when he was born, we see how much he suffers because the workhouse treats kids badly and doesn't care for them. He doesn't have a family to love him or teach him, so he learns fast that life is tough when you're poor. The early parts of the book show how Oliver's personality is shaped by the workhouse and how strong he has to be to survive. It makes you wonder what will happen to him as he tries to find a better life and all the hard things he will need to overcome. We can see his journey as a baby all the way to finding a job and being in danger, which makes us realize how urgent and sad his life is. That shows us how Dickens wanted to criticize the unfair things happening in society.
