"David Copperfield" by Charles Dickens is a story that follows David Copperfield's journey from when he was a young boy to when he becomes an adult, showing all the things that happen to him and how they change him. At the start of the book, we see David being born after his father had died, and his strict aunt, Miss Betsey Trotwood, also comes into the story wanting to be important in his life, too. When David is little, he is loved by his mother and is curious about everything. The first parts of the story show us his mother, Peggotty, and Miss Betsey, and also tell us that his family is complicated, and that he will have troubles growing up without a father.
