Summary

"The Story of Louie" by Oliver Onions is a book that follows Louie Causton, the daughter of a boxer and an artist's model, as she journeys to discover herself and where she belongs in society. The story begins by introducing Louie's complex family dynamics, especially the relationship between her mother, the Honorable Emily Causton, and her father, Buck Causton, who was a famous boxer. This start creates the setting for Louie's life, showing her difficult childhood and her search for acceptance. While attending a horticultural college, Louie deals with the differences between her social standing and what she hopes to achieve, struggling with her family's past and trying to create her own identity despite what others expect of her.
