How It All Came Round

"How It All Came Round" by L.T. Meade is a late 19th-century novel that follows two women also named Charlotte, one is wealthy with dreams of being a writer, and the other is struggling to provide for her three children. The book studies themes of family and how people relate to one another, especially when facing hardships, looking at differences between having money and being poor as the two Charlottes each navigate tough situations, their lives becoming connected showing that destiny is at play in unfolding drama.

Elizabeth Thomasina Meade Smith (1844–1914), writing under the pseudonym L. T. Meade, was a prolific writer of girls' stories. She was born in Bandon, County Cork, Ireland, daughter of Rev. R. T. Meade, of Nohoval, County Cork. She later moved to London, where she married Alfred Toulmin Smith in September 1879.
