Summary

"Masters of the Wheat-Lands" by Harold Bindloss is a story set in the early 1900s, in a prairie settlement in Western Canada, where we discover the tough lives of people trying to get used to farming on new land. The book starts in a small place called Lander's, where everyone is at a dance to forget the cold and hard work. We get to know Gregory Hawtrey, who is hopeful but not very realistic, and Sally Creighton, a strong local girl with big plans. Sally and Gregory are opposites, but they both dream of making a life for themselves. As the story goes on, we see how tough the land is and how it tests the people who live there, while Sally steps up in hard times, showing she is tough and can handle anything thrown her way.
