Summary

"The Dawn of All" by Robert Hugh Benson, is a journey into a possible future, using a story to compare what might happen based on today's thinking versus old religious beliefs. Monsignor Masterman wakes up with no memory in a bizarre world, not knowing who he is, which shows the clash between faith and new ideas. When the story begins, Monsignor Masterman slowly starts to remember things while in a strange place, trying to understand where he is and what happened. He figures out that he's in a future society very different from what he knew, with things like government-backed religious practices and super advanced technology. By seeing how things look and who he meets, like priests and government people, we see him trying to make sense of this new place, getting ready for bigger questions about faith, who we are, and how society changes, all in a world that seems to be ruled by Christian ideas.
