Summary

"The Record of Currupira" by Robert Abernathy is a sci-fi adventure set in a world where Martian archaeological discoveries hint at Earth's hidden past. James Dalton, a skilled linguist, becomes obsessed with a terrifying entity, the Currupira, after hearing a disturbing Martian recording. He undertakes a dangerous mission into the Brazilian rainforest to rescue his colleague, Dr. Oliver Thwaite, who is consumed by his search for the creature. The story weaves together themes of ancient evils, primal fears, and the power of language. It looks at the tension between good and evil, which underscores the search for understanding and the attempt to counteract the dark forces through an ancient music.
