Summary

"Kit Musgrave's Luck" by Harold Bindloss is a story about Kit Musgrave, a young clerk from Liverpool, who travels to the Canary Islands and West Africa for work. Starting with Kit's arrival in Las Palmas, he quickly discovers the romantic image he had is very different from the industrial reality. He thinks about his life choices, like his job and a girl he likes named Betty, but his ambition keeps him going. He meets new people like Don Arturo and the enthusiastic Spanish ship crew, who influence his experiences. It is a story about growing up, seeing different cultures, and the surprises that life brings as he starts his adventures in a new world.
