Summary

"The Gold Trail" by Harold Bindloss is a story that transports readers to the untamed landscapes of early 20th-century western Canada, where a railway's progress is halted by a seemingly endless swamp, testing the spirit of all those involved. Proud Stirling, a determined contractor, takes charge, bravely venturing into the wild with his daughter, while Weston, a resourceful packer haunted by his past, plays a pivotal role. As grand ambitions and personal demons collide against the natural world, themes of resilience, class divisions, and unwavering determination interweave in a landscape as unforgiving as it is beautiful.
