Summary

"Down to Earth" by Harry Harrison is a science fiction adventure where astronauts Major Gino Lombardi and Colonel Danton Coye journey to the moon, but their return flips their lives upside down. A terrible accident causes the death of a crew member, and they return to Earth only to find it ruled by a powerful Nazi regime. Their once familiar homeland has been twisted by alternate historical events. Shocked and disoriented, the astronauts fight for survival in this new world while desperately searching for a way back to their original reality. With help from Albert Einstein, who presents a theory for their return, their story becomes a race against time to restore the world they once knew, exploring how pivotal events can change everything.

About the Author

Harry Max Harrison was an American science fiction author, known mostly for his character The Stainless Steel Rat and for his novel Make Room! Make Room! (1966). The latter was the rough basis for the motion picture Soylent Green (1973). Long resident in both Ireland and the United Kingdom, Harrison was involved in the foundation of the Irish Science Fiction Association, and was, with Brian Aldiss, co-president of the Birmingham Science Fiction Group.
