Summary

"Killykinick" by Mary T. Waggaman is a story set in the early 1900s about a group of boys, especially Freddy Neville, who's getting better after being sick, and Dan Dolan, a tough kid trying to fit in with the wealthier boys at Saint Andrew's school. The plot follows these youngsters in a summer adventure, diving into friendship, dealing with different social classes, and showing how important it is to have people who care about you. After most students leave for summer, Freddy is dealing with his dad being gone and the kindness of of Brother Bart. Dan is a scholarship student trying to find his place. When they are all dispatched to Killykinick for the summer the boys get into trouble on the gym equipment and Freddy gets hurt badly. Everyone then ends up going to Killykinick, where they will discover a path of self discovery.
