Great Expectations

"Great Expectations" by Charles Dickens is a story set in the Victorian era about Philip "Pip" Pirrip, an orphan boy, and his journey through different social levels, dreams, and complicated friendships. The story kicks off when Pip runs into a runaway criminal, an event that brings up important ideas about wanting more in life, doing what's right, and changing as a person. Starting in a lonely church graveyard, Pip thinks about his family by reading their gravestones, but is suddenly scared by a convict who forces him to steal food and a tool.
