The Vigil Night Watches, Part 8.

"The Vigil" by W. W. Jacobs, is a funny story that happens at home, and it's all about being brave, what families expect, and funny confusions. Things get crazy as Mr. Farrer faces some weird stuff, making him even more scared, without the sergeant knowing. The ending is funny because their secret plans are revealed, showing how silly their competition is and making fun of people who pretend to be brave for love.
