Days and Dreams: Poems

"Days and Dreams: Poems" by Madison Julius Cawein is a compilation that explores emotions and observations through poetry from a bygone era. Love, the beauty of the natural world, and the relentless march of time take center stage in this collection. Vivid descriptions paint the backdrop for intimate reflections on love and longing. The work begins with verses that demonstrate the link between love and nature. The speaker is in awe of his beloved, especially as the speaker presents a contrast to a complex world. The poems set off feelings of yearning, using richly detailed settings. The seasons become a device to reflect on love and existential thoughts, as floral imagery mixes joy with sadness.

Madison Julius Cawein was a poet from Louisville, Kentucky.
