Summary

"The Thought-Feeders" by R. R. Winterbotham is a science fiction story about two pilots, Dr. Kempster Duerkes and Captain Lewis Hawes, who stumble upon a weird phenomenon far above the Earth. After their plane fails, they get stuck in a strange green cloud and lose their senses as they change and begin to communicate with the entities within it: the Green Clouds. These beings live off the thoughts of creatures, like humans, and have a peculiar way of life based on mental creation instead of actual work. Intrigued and confused, the two men struggle to understand this society and soon try to build a thought-powered plane to escape, leaving behind the strange cloud beings and their thought-based lives.
