"The Cruise of the Jasper B." by Don Marquis is a story from the early 1900’s, about a man named Clement J. Cleggett; he is a boring copyreader changing his life into one filled with adventure, self-discovery, and even love after he gets a lot of money from his grumpy Uncle Tom. Cleggett used to live a very normal life until he found out about the inheritance, which made him want to become a seafarer and a hero. He decides to stand up to his boss and buy the Jasper B., an old ship. He puts together an interesting group of people to work with him, but there are some problems that suggest there will be excitement and danger on their trip.
