Summary

"The Prisoner of Zenda" by Anthony Hope is a late 19th-century novel about an Englishman named Rudolf Rassendyll who journeys to Ruritania for the King’s coronation and finds himself at the center of royal drama due to his striking resemblance to the King. Initially portrayed as a man without direction, Rudolf's life takes a turn when he hears during a family dinner about his ancestral link to the Ruritanian royal family, sparking his curiosity about the kingdom and its upcoming coronation. His feelings swing between worry and eagerness as he travels, and the story begins with a cheerful tone, mixing humor with family conversations, but soon changes to a more suspenseful course filled with unexpected adventure and political schemes.
