Rulers of kings: A novel

"Rulers of Kings" by Gertrude Franklin Horn Atherton is a story about a young man named Fessenden Abbott, who suddenly finds himself with a huge fortune of four hundred million dollars, which surprisingly makes him feel down instead of happy. The story gives us a look into Fessenden's life, including how he grew up in the wilderness and the lessons his dad, Mr. Abbott, taught him. The relationship between Fessenden and his father is really important, as it shows the struggles Fessenden has with who he is and what he wants, especially with the weight of his family's legacy on his shoulders, and through this we can discover more about the role society has on us as well.
