"The Ship of Coral" by H. De Vere Stacpoole, is a tale set in a far off place, where Gaspard Cadillac and Yves are stranded on a lonely, deserted island when their ship explodes. At first, they live peacefully, but uneasily remembering the past, specifically Gaspard's feelings for a woman named Anisette. As it turns out, their differences lead to a terrible clash where Gaspard accidentally kills Yves leaving him alone and heartbroken. Now, Gaspard fights against his guilt and the island elements as he pays the price for what he has done.
