Summary

"The Presentation" by H. De Vere Stacpoole is a story dropped right into 18th-century France, where the drama of Comtesse Dubarry's grand entrance to King Louis XV's court is about to explode. The book kicks off at a fancy ball, introducing the charming but maybe untrustworthy Comte de Rochefort and the swirling tensions of a court hungry for power. As Rochefort dodges sneaky plots and makes surprising alliances, he finds himself stuck in the middle of a scheme to ruin Dubarry's big moment. With ambition and lies thickening the air, the scene is set for a high-stakes game of love and betrayal.
