"By Earthlight" by Bryce Walton is a science fiction story set in the early 1950s that follows Hal Barlow on what he believes to be a pioneering journey to the moon. This journey, however, is one-way, a sacrifice orchestrated by the Brotherhood, a group aiming to ignite a peaceful revolution during a time when the threat of atomic war hangs over the Earth.
