Summary

"Connie Carl at Rainbow Ranch" by Joan Clark is a story set in the late 1930s about a sixteen-year-old girl named Connie Carl, who comes back to her family's ranch in New Mexico after being away at school. Connie dreams of running Rainbow Ranch, but when she gets home, she finds out that the ranch isn't doing well and is facing some serious issues. As Connie tries to find her spot and take control, she deals with problems outside of herself and also has to figure out who she can trust, all while trying to become the owner of the ranch, especially with Forest Blakeman, the foreman, and Jim Barrows, a mysterious worker.
